Packaging Machine Operator sets up and operates a packaging machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers according to company and/or customer specifications. Being a Packaging Machine Operator verifies goods packaged against package invoices. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Additionally, Packaging Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Documents inventory number and weight, and organizes packages. May make minor repairs to packaging equipment as needed. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Packaging Machine Operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Summary
This job exists to ensure product quality and production levels are achieved and sustained for the packaging equipment on the assigned line(s).
This includes providing electronic and mechanical maintenance, operation, sanitation, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment in the Packaging Area from the distribution system to the LGVs.
This position may also assist with the operation, electronic and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of other equipment throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
This includes operating equipment to verify operational efficiency.
and ensures that they are conducted in compliance with established procedures and specifications.
Ensures that metal detector checks and all other required checks (x-ray, bag weights, bag / case integrity, etc.) are conducted and recorded in the appropriate location in a timely manner.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Relevant Experience
3 years related experience and / or training
Other Information
Must be able to work around and consume products containing soy, wheat, and dairy.
