Packaging Machine Operator sets up and operates a packaging machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers according to company and/or customer specifications. Being a Packaging Machine Operator verifies goods packaged against package invoices. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Additionally, Packaging Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Documents inventory number and weight, and organizes packages. May make minor repairs to packaging equipment as needed. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Packaging Machine Operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Job Responsibilities:
    • Perform all duties in accordance with Can One SOP, Safety Rules and Safety Training

    • Must be 18 Years or older
    •  Able to stand, bend, twist,, reach, push, pull and regularly lift between 10-40 lbs
    •  Stand at workstation for duration of scheduled shift
    •  Ability to perform basic math
    •  Ability to read, write, speak, interpret and understand the English language
    •  Ability to work all assigned schedules and comply with attendance policies
    •  Ability to work in varying climate and noise levels
    • Perform machine setup, break down, cleaning, maintenance, and lubrication of various parts of the equipment.

    Qualifications:

     

    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Job related experience for 1-year(s) minimum
    • Able to work in different temperature ranges
    • Able to stand for long periods of time
    • Able to lift 50 pounds
    • Mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to identify product defects.
    • Ability to use hand and power tools.
    • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

     

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
    • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.  Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.

    Pay Range

    USD $22.00 - USD $30.00 /Hr.
