Packaging Machine Operator jobs in Pennsylvania
Packaging Machine Operator sets up and operates a packaging machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers according to company and/or customer specifications. Being a Packaging Machine Operator verifies goods packaged against package invoices. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Additionally, Packaging Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Documents inventory number and weight, and organizes packages. May make minor repairs to packaging equipment as needed. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Packaging Machine Operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. PAY & BENEFITS:
- Starting pay rate of $25.71 per hour, plus shift differential for 2nd and 3rd
- Vacation earned after 90 days. 11 paid holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform a variety of manufacturing tasks using Production Equipment to ensure steady workflow.
Ensure a high quality product is coming off the machine.
Conduct quality checks to ensure boxes have required dimensions and zero material defects.
Lead machine crew with setups/change overs.
Problem solve when issues with the machine arise.
Complete necessary reports.
Other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED.
Strong safety background and good attendance record.
Works well in a team environment.
Ability to work any shift, including overtime and weekends.
Strong mechanical aptitude and be good communicator.
1 year of manufacturing experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience operating corrugated printing equipment.
Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment, with an understanding that temperatures and volumes of work may vary.
