Packaging Machine Operator sets up and operates a packaging machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers according to company and/or customer specifications. Being a Packaging Machine Operator verifies goods packaged against package invoices. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Additionally, Packaging Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Documents inventory number and weight, and organizes packages. May make minor repairs to packaging equipment as needed. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Packaging Machine Operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Responsibilities:Entry level position, Job duties include and subject to change without notice:- Working safely in the packaging area.
- Must be PPE trained on specific required safety gear for the area.
- Packaging all liquid fertilizers in accordance with the daily production schedule.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Demonstrate competence with company safety standards.
- Report any incidents/ accidents to your lead and/or manager right away.
- Work close with other team members.
- Meet physical requirements including lifting, standing while wearing proper PPE.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Enduring the heat and humidity.
- Keep yourself hydrated.
- Running all packaging line equipment.
- Implementing packaging line quality control.
- Operation of all machines on the packaging line.
- Must perform all other duties as needed.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Demonstrate competence with company safety standards.
Qualifications:- Experience using a forklift and professional forklift certification is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Able to lift heavy objects (65 lbs repetitively).
- Must be able to start immediately.
