The Greenhouse Assistant Manager in Packaging is responsible for the daily greenhouse harvesting and packing operations, in a manner that ensures safety, maximizes operational efficiencies, ensures quality standards are upheld, and contributes to profitability. In addition to personnel supervision, this position is responsible for a variety of managerial, administrative, and physical functions in a manner that ensures safety, maximizes operational effeciencies, ensures quality standards are upheld, and contributes to profitability. All operations will be done in accordance with the company HACCP and food safety plans, strict bio-security measures, and standard operating procedures.
Primary Job Functions
1. Responsible for all personnel, equipment, and operations in the harvest and packing rooms, as well as the de-dirter/board- washer, water flume, box erector, labeler, herb-packing room, and packing-input dock.
2. Effectively supervise and manage employees. Including making employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc.
3. Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring, and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan, and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
4. Communicate and collaborate regularly with the Greenhouse, Production, Growing, Quality Assurance, Facilities, and Sales teams, both individually and as a group, in order to facilitate successful production.
5. Develop, maintain, and implement standard operating procedures, to ensure that all staff are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures, including sanitation SOP's.
6. Complete and organize all required daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork.
7. Identify, set, and track equipment KPI's (key performance indicators), and also develop improvement plans accordingly.
8. Responsible for waste tracking and management.
9. Manage product quality, automation, OSHA compliance, and maintain workflow, while ensuring that the operation is compliant with environmental and/or food safety regulations.

Education:
- High School Diploma Required
Experience:
- 2 years of manufacturing experience, required.
- 2 years of food packing experience, desired.
- Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.
Licenses or Certifications:
- Preferred to have food safety, SQF, GMP, GAP, HACCP, etc.
