Packaging Manager manages and oversees the packaging staff on designated shift to achieve operational objectives. Observes, analyzes, and researches packaging line operation to develop and implement scientific and efficient process. Being a Packaging Manager implements quality control check to ensure the packaging meets environment, health, and safety regulations. Provides staff with directions on materials and equipment for each package. Additionally, Packaging Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Packaging Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Summary/Objective
This position is responsible for the SRC, Goat or CDB packaging including supervising hourly employees in a manufacturing environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in packaging methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinet. Manager may also work in the test kitchen, pilot plant, and production floor.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in an office environment as well as on the production floor including being occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The employee is exposed to a humid and wet environment at times and could also be exposed to cold conditions in the coolers.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The role also routinely uses production and process equipment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Occasional off shift work hours will be required. Weekend and holiday work required as needed.
Travel
This position requires <10% travel. Occasionally travel is outside the local area and overnight.
