Our prestigious North Fresno specialty surgical practice has a full time opening for a qualified individual to join our billing team! As part of an expanding dynamic team, our Medical Billing/Coding Specialist holds responsibility for submitting accurate and timely electronic claims through the EDI to enable payment from all appropriate parties. This requires expertise in medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, workers compensation, commercial insurances, and Medicare billing and collections.

Responsibilities and required knowledge base of the billing team member include:

Reviews medical procedures as documented by surgeons, physician assistants and medical assistants

Coordinates insurance reimbursement of care providers

Reviews and inputs into billing system, the daily patient encounters

Bills patients for medical services

Bills insurance companies and third-party administrators for medical procedures

Reviews EOBs and ensures all denials are addressed in a timely manner

Reviews AR to ensure all accounts are billed and paid timely

Posts payments from patients and other payors

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• 1-2 years prior medical billing experience

Preferred

• AAPC certification
• ASC and/or medical clinic experience
• Worker's compensation experience
