Packer/Packager, Hand jobs in Lawrence, MA

We are searching for a hard working, self motivated individual to join the groundskeeping crew on a beautiful farm in Ipswich that produces veggies, eggs, pork, grazes cattle and cuts and bales hay. Responsibilities include mowing, weed whacking, clearing brush, weed management (we don't use herbicides, so hand weeding/hoeing), moving/watering cattle and pastured chickens, irrigating, tree/landscape maintenance, blueberry patch maintenance, herb and speciality vegetable garden care, facilities maintenance including some cleaning, and other tasks as assigned. The candidate must pass a background check and have reliable transportation. Full or part time. This is a seasonal position and lasts until October.

Required Skills:

-ability to operate small machines like mowers/trimmers/blowers/chain saws and use hand tools like shovels, rakes, hoes, etc

-ability to communicate effectively (must have a phone from which you can send and receive texts and phone calls)

-ability to commute to Ipswich and Manchester-By-The-Sea (one day/week)

-ability to follow directions and carry out assigned tasks

-farm machinery operation, mechanical, horticultural and gardening skills are a plus

There are bees, green-heads in July, mosquitoes, and poison ivy on the farm, so if you are not able to deal with some chance of encountering these bugs/plants do not apply. This is a physical job on a beautiful farm and you will be rewarded with veggies, competitive pay, lots of exercise and great camaraderie.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
