Job Description SummaryThis team member is responsible for safely operating spray equipment to apply industrial coating finishes on fork truck masts’ components per customer requirements. They will utilize common industrial painting techniques proper surface preparations, equipment/work area cleanliness standards, and safe rigging procedures. Adherence to OSHA standards and participation in the Lift-Tek Respirator Program are required.Essential functions:
- The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this position but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign the functions of this job at any time.
- Safely operate spray equipment to apply industrial coating finishes (paint or powdercoat) on fork truck mast components per LTI technical drawings and engineering notices.
- Assures surfaces are properly prepared for painting application, cleaning any dust or dirt to prevent imperfect finishes
- Safely rig/secure large components to an overhead trolley system for the purpose of moving them through the process of applying industrial finish processes and other production processes.
- Safely operate overhead trolley system, overhead cranes, various lifting devices and fork trucks.
- Safely perform Quality Checks per LTI requirements.
- Adhere to all OSHA and HazMat Procedures with respect to the storage, application and handling of materials in the work area
- Assist in the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment, observe good safety habits and report any malfunctions of equipment or processing to a department leader.
- Accurately and neatly complete all required production documentation.
- Safely perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactory, safely and in alignment with Lift Tek’s core values and policies. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Education/Certifications/Experience:Required:- A High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Minimum 6 months of experience with industrial coating and/or automotive applications
Preferred:- Associates Degree
- Industrial Painting and/or Auto Body certification or degree
- Minimum 2 years of experience with industrial coating and/or automotive applications
Skills and Ability- Thorough knowledge of surface preparation to ensure proper coating adhesion.
- Basic understanding of paint equipment and paint booth operations.
- Basic knowledge of math and measuring functions.
- Ability and desire to become efficient with painting techniques, meet productivity rates, maintain quality standards and learn all aspects of the job as required.
- Ability to utilize a variety of hand/power tools and measuring devices.
- Ability to operate overhead trolley system, overhead cranes and fork truck.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and engineering notices.
- Ability to read and follow safety and work instructions, procedures and policies.
- Ability to work regular schedule and overtime, as required.
- Ability to effectively work with coworkers in a team environment.
- Ability to accurately and neatly complete required production documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently produce quality product.
