Job description

Duties:
- Loading and unloading of donated food for downtown food pantry. Lifting of up to 40 pounds when moving donated food items.

- Assistance in pantry kitchen as needed.

- Assistance with pick up of donated foods several times per week using company vehicle.

- Excellent driving record required.

- Some record-keeping and office duties.

- We require someone with the desire to help people and work with each recipient in their time of need. Experience with working with the needy is a plus. Our organization is a small religious non-profit organization.

Additional Details:

Our food program recipients include the elderly, veterans, families, single mothers with children and others who may find themselves in temporary or permanent need of food assistance. Our goal is to help as many individuals and families as possible without a lot of red-tape. Our food program is most likely the oldest food pantry for the less fortunate in San Antonio as it has been in operation since 1956. The person that we hire for this position will be assisting existing staff and needs to be able to adapt to situations that may arise concerning the persons that we assist and we are looking for someone with the compassion and understanding to work with these individuals and families.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
