ELKHART COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL POSITION VACANCY NOTICE

PARALEGAL- TRIAL DIVISION (ANALYST)

DEPARTMENT: Prosecuting Attorney

HIRING RANGE: $20.89-$23.21/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: 40 hours/week; Monday thru Friday

LOCATION OF POSITION: Elkhart

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: None

JOB SUMMARY:
Incumbent serves as a Paralegal responsible for performing various pretrial and trial preparation duties, preparing case pleadings. This position will also be responsible for assistance providing tactical, operational, and strategic analysis of criminal activity and will be responsible for mobile forensic extractions, analysis of records, mapping of phone records, creating diagrams, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED and 18 months related training and/or education beyond high school; Paralegal certificate preferred
• Knowledge of Elkhart County courts system and operations, including laws and legal terminology, administrative regulations, and official court policies and practices
• Ability to apply appropriate procedures to assigned duties accordingly
• Knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and ability to type with speed and accuracy. Ability to prepare pleadings, petitions, related correspondence, and reports
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen
