Paralegal assists and supports attorneys with research and document preparation for court proceedings and legal transactions. Utilizes a variety of sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes to research and analyze legal topics. Being a Paralegal drafts and edits legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, motions, and contracts. Conducts fact-finding, data collection, and analysis used to prepare statements and arguments. Additionally, Paralegal assists attorneys with depositions, interviews, discovery, and investigations. Manages, organizes, and archives documents with software tools and technology. Applies specialized legal terminology appropriately in documents. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to an attorney. Freedom Foundation Job Description: Paralegal
The Paralegal is responsible for supporting the Freedom Foundation’s Attorneys, primarily by formatting and filing documents in courts around the United States, but secondarily by communicating with clients and assisting in conducting legal research. This position reports directly to the Chief Litigation Counsel but will usually work with one or two specific attorneys.
The positions are located in Salem, Oregon and Olympia, WA. The Foundation is looking for persons who have experience as a paralegal and are willing to work full-time in an office.

The Freedom Foundation offers competitive pay and benefits. Compensation is determined by a candidate’s overall experience and qualifications, within a range of $40,000 to $65,000. This position has the potential to earn bonuses. The Freedom Foundation offers Health Insurance and a 403(b) Retirement Program (which the Foundation partially matches) and provides a flexible personal time off (PTO/Vacation) policy, allowing full-time employees to take leave as needed when approved by management, and 12 paid holidays.
