Responsible for case management by assigning cases and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion. Being a Paralegal Manager validates and oversees the preparation of legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, motions, appeals, wills, and contracts. Organizes documents into formal report and proofs for attorneys. Additionally, Paralegal Manager provides research and training support to the paralegals utilizing databases and legal libraries. Coordinates with attorneys on special requests or highly complex projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Paralegal Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. × Maintain client communication regularly
× Gather and analyze intake information and relevant documents associated with new files
× Initiate claims, verify coverage and maintain communication with insurance adjusters to provide case status updates. Assist clients in coordinating medical care for injuries associated with their case
× Answer and help prepare discovery, including requests to produce and interrogatories
× Obtain and maintain necessary information for each file that includes calls to clients and follow‑up to ensure sure that the documents are provided
× Input and track expenses associated with client files
× Collect documentation of all damages sustained such as medical records, bills and loss of wages
× Review and interpret medical records and reports
× Draft settlement demands for attorney review
× Maintain a checklist of standard tasks and reminders associated with cases
× Coordinate investigation of defendant’s insurance coverage
× Track health insurance liens
× Prepare documents and correspondence such as letters of representation, demand letters, billing inquiries, etc
× File petitions, motions, voluntary dismissals and necessary litigation documents
× Prepare necessary documents for hearings, e.g., motion to compel hearings
× Prepare motions, pleadings and other documents/ Prepare mediation and trial binders/ Prepare closings upon settlement and coordinate the signing of the closing documents
× Draft correspondence
× Trial and mediation preparation
Requirements:
× 3 years experience as a Personal Injury Paralegal/Legal Assistant
