Paralegal Manager manages and develops the paralegal team and the systems and processes utilized to conduct research and produce legal documents. Responsible for case management by assigning cases and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion. Being a Paralegal Manager validates and oversees the preparation of legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, motions, appeals, wills, and contracts. Organizes documents into formal report and proofs for attorneys. Additionally, Paralegal Manager provides research and training support to the paralegals utilizing databases and legal libraries. Coordinates with attorneys on special requests or highly complex projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Paralegal Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Paralegal Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Summary: Contracts Manager for WC Maloney, a specialty contractor based in Stockton, CA, performing all phases of demolition and environmental remediation throughout California. This role is a vital part of our team who is adept at bringing together the administrative pieces that will initiate a project. This position will support both WC Maloney and its sister company Professional Asbestos and Lead Services. The unique nature of the work we perform means our projects are constantly evolving, so you must enjoy a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.


    Key Skills & requirements

    • Manage the creation, negotiation and signing of contracts
    • Track and update Master Service Agreements (MSA) with clients
    • Track, manage, maintain and update contractor and business licenses for all areas we work
    • Preparation, coordination and tracking of bid documents, and bid bond requests
    • Receive/process all contracts to include internal job set up, adding job information in Plexxis & FieldFlo, creating job folders and filing project documents and records.
    • Perform initial redlining of contracts based on previous comments and company standards
    • Coordinate all internal reveiws for incoming contracts including Project Manager, President (or his designate) or others as needed
    • Collate and return to client (or PM) all contract comments and review returned documents for conformance with requested edits
    • Seek approval for accepting any comments that are rejected by client
    • Route contracts for signature
    • Obtain and process required insurance certificates & bonds as required
    • Enter new contracts/projects into MS Project & update and maintain schedule & values on monthly basis with work remaining
    • Prepare “cheat sheets” on major projects to assist PM’s & support staff with staying on top of key contract requirements (notices, closeout, etc.)
    • Coordinate, document, and participate in various meetings
    • Perform other projects/duties as assigned


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred and 3 years of construction contract experience
    • Certified Contract Management Associate (CCMA) designation (or working toward certification) preferred



    Basic level of knowledge in:

    • MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams etc.), Adobe, DocuSign
    • General Construction Contract Administration
    • Bonding, Certificates of Insurance, permitting, licensing
    • Contract language, terms and conditions

    Skills Required:

    • Strong communication capabilities
    • Strong attention to detail, organized and able to multi-task
    • Self motivated, responsive and demonstrated problem solving skills
    • Must be able to adhere to deadlines and manage time
    • Strong Analytical skills to understand contracts
    • Basic negotiation skills
