    Salary Range: $52,150 – 75,830 plus $4,200 yearly stipend. Salary commensurate with experience.

    Position Summary:

    Colorado Legal Services seeks a dedicated, full-time paralegal supervisor for its busy Housing law practice serving the Denver metropolitan area. This is a CLS management position. Working under the direct supervision of the Denver Housing Unit’s Supervising Attorney, the Intake and Paralegal Supervisor will oversee administrative tasks for the Unit, including tracking and assisting staff with grant reporting obligations and will serve as an administrative point of contact for the DHU within CLS. Along with the Assistant Supervising Attorneys and the Supervising Attorney, the Paralegal Supervisor will be expected to oversee intake and referral tasks in each of DHU’s three courthouse clinics, participate in leadership meetings for planning and development of DHU, and be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with outside organizations and will oversee outreach for the unit.

    Essential Duties:

    • Work with Assistant Supervising Attorneys to develop and maintain systems for quality control during the applicant intake process in courthouse clinics
    • Supervise paralegals in maintaining a library of resources to provide clinic clients and applicants
    • With the Supervising Attorney, coordinate with Coordinated Statewide Intake (CSI) supervisors to maintain and improve quality of CSI intakes, monitor internal referral process, and train CSI staff in housing intake
    • Provide support and oversight to paralegal staff in coordination with Assistant Supervising Attorneys
    • Create an outreach plan and oversee housing unit outreach tasks to increase tenant rights awareness
    • Manage the Unit to maintain relationships with partner agencies in order to provide applicants with a “warm hand-off” for other services as appropriate
    • Engage in office administrative tasks - provide feedback for evaluations, assist with maintaining unit calendars, organize digital files, and coordinate with other units and CLS staff to ensure smooth administrative functioning
    • Assist with special projects, including community resource development and/or administrative tasks that maintain or enhance effective operation of the Denver Housing Unit
    • Refer legal questions to and maintain regular communication with the Denver Housing Unit Supervising Attorney and Assistant Supervising Attorneys
    • Promptly address any problems identified in the above processes with the Supervising Attorney and Assistant Supervising Attorneys
    • Provide input for the Denver Housing Unit case acceptance protocols and other Unit business
    • In coordination with the Supervising Attorney and Assistant Supervising Attorneys, develop and maintain a core curriculum and process to train paralegals
    • Support Assistant Supervising Attorneys in training new paralegals, as needed, and provide any additional and ongoing training, as needed
    • Assist in grant reporting for the Unit’s grants including quarterly and yearly updates regarding implementation, number of clients served, and languages used
    • Travel to courthouse clinics and to outreach events throughout the Denver metro area, as needed
    • Occasional evening or weekend attendance at outreach and community education events

    Required Qualifications:

    • Associate’s Degree or higher
    • 2 years of experience doing direct work with minority and/or vulnerable populations will equate to an Associate’s Degree.
    • 1 year experience working with vulnerable populations
    • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
    • Ability to travel throughout the Denver metro area, as needed
    • Requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to independently manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and providing feedback and oversight to staff.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Understanding of and experience in working within the S. legal system and with attorneys
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish
    • Microsoft Office proficiency
    • Management/supervisory experience
    • Understanding of the eviction process and eviction resources in Colorado

    Compensation and Benefits:
