The candidate will with accuracy draft legal documents including briefs, pleadings, agreements, and legal memoranda. Draft correspondence. Check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy. Organize and maintain client files. Coordinate meetings and client appointments. Prepare litigation materials such as discovery, witness lists, exhibits, and other materials in preparation for trial. Assist the attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, trials, and other legal matters. Conduct legal research. File and mail legal documents. Answer telephone calls, greet clients, and accurately relay messages. Maintain schedule of appointments, court dates, and meetings. 3-5 years’ experience working in a law firm preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential. Excellent time management skills and attention to detail are needed. Strong research and report generating skills are needed. Experience in using legal database software is needed. The candidate must have experience with civil litigation and conducting written discovery. Experience in Federal case law, Appellate case law, Criminal law, and Family Law is a plus.
