Paralegal Supervisor supervises the paralegal team and implements systems and processes utilized to conduct research and produce legal documents. Coordinates the preparation of legal documents and tracks projects to ensure the work is completed accurately and on time. Being a Paralegal Supervisor organizes documents into formal report and proofs for attorneys. Trains paralegals to effectively utilize databases and legal libraries to conduct research. Additionally, Paralegal Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Paralegal Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Paralegal Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     Dauphin County Solicitor's Office is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Paralegal. The overall objective of the employee in this role is to perform paraprofessional work that is time-bound and crucial to the operation of county government. The position will assist the Chief Solicitor, Part Time Assistant Solicitors, and Associate Attorney in fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of the Solicitor’s Office. The employee in this role is responsible for but not limited to performing the following essential functions:  

    1. Assists in performing and directing research pursuant to provision of legal opinions; preparation of contracts; establishment of authorities; and commencement of, or response to, litigation.
    2. Assists in drafting and timely files legal documents with courts and other authorities.
    3. Assists in monitoring contract compliance by the County and its vendors and contractors.
    4. Assists in monitoring County departments in adherence to their statutory mandates.
    5. Assists the Associate Attorney with the implementation and compliance with all applicable Right-to-Know Laws within the scope and control of the Dauphin County Board of Commissioners.
    6. Assists in research as need by the Chief Solicitor, Part Time Assistant Solicitors and Associate Attorney. 

    Minimum Education, Experience and Training Requirements:

    Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree in paralegal or legal assistant or, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or a bachelor’s degree with a certificate in paralegal studies.  A minimum of two years of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or other relevant position.  Experience working in a government office is preferred.  A favorable background check is required.
