Being a Paralegal Supervisor organizes documents into formal report and proofs for attorneys. Trains paralegals to effectively utilize databases and legal libraries to conduct research. Additionally, Paralegal Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Paralegal Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. We are seeking a full time Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a college degree and 1-5 years experience in civil litigation, a strong work ethic and a team player.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Drafting motions/pleadings
- Electronic filing (state and federal court systems)
- Drafting Subpoenas and Deposition notices
- Preparing for Mediations and Trials
- Managing court docket calendar and Trial list
- Transcribe dictations and prepare summaries
- Manage file documents
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Proficient in data entry and clerical duties
- Knowledge of e-services, PACER, motions, discovery process, evidence, litigation documents, court rules and procedures
- Ability to transcribe accurately and efficiently
- Proficient Microsoft Office (word, outlook, excel), Adobe and typing skills
- Experience in legal drafting and preparing legal correspondence
