Paralegal Supervisor supervises the paralegal team and implements systems and processes utilized to conduct research and produce legal documents. Coordinates the preparation of legal documents and tracks projects to ensure the work is completed accurately and on time. Being a Paralegal Supervisor organizes documents into formal report and proofs for attorneys. Trains paralegals to effectively utilize databases and legal libraries to conduct research. Additionally, Paralegal Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Paralegal Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Paralegal Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     Johnson Pope Bokor Ruppel & Burns, LLP is seeking a full-time Paralegal with experience in the areas of Community Association Law including Condominium, HOA, and Cooperatives, along with real estate litigation and business litigation experience. Candidates must have three (3) years of demonstrated experience as a Litigation paralegal handling all aspects of litigation files.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

    Required:

    The paralegal is responsible for handling a heavy caseload and working closely with HOA/Condo/Co-op Board members and homeowners. The paralegal will need to be comfortable with managing complaints, referrals, preparing notices, liens, release of liens, foreclosure notices, collections, preparing final demand letters, preparing notices of unpaid assessments and other charges, preparing payment plan default letters, preparing new referrals for the collection process, preparing the file for lawsuit, etc. This is a very demanding position that is document-intensive, and deadline driven.

    Requirements:

    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information in transactional documents, such as contracts, corporate documents, and real estate documents.
    • Excellent communication skills – written and oral
    • Problem-solving, analytical, and research skills
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously
    • Motivated self-starter with a positive attitude
    • Willingness to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint with an aptitude for learning other systems/programs
    • Familiarity with using an electronic document management system. Experience in Filesite/ iManage is a plus
    • Ability to file/record documents in official records
    • Advanced Adobe Professional and Adobe Acrobat

    Educational/Job Experience Requirements:

    • High school diploma from an accredited institution
    • Paralegal Degree/Certificate
    • A minimum of 3 years of trusts and estates experience
    • Availability for overtime as needed
