Paramedic provides emergency advanced life support care to patients who are ill and/or injured. Conducts patient assessment to determine the extent of an illness or injury and to establish and prioritize medical procedures to follow. Being a Paramedic performs life support procedures or administers oxygen. Dispenses antiseptic solution to prevent infection, starts and administers intravenous fluids. Additionally, Paramedic performs other emergency medical procedures needed to stabilize patient during transport. Provides an update on patient's condition and status of treatments when transferring to other medical personnel. May require registry in NREMT. Typically requires an associate degree in an accredited Paramedic program. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a manager. The Paramedic works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.     Responsibilities:

    • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
    • Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
    • Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
    • Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
    • Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
    • Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.
    Other Responsibilities:
    • Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
    MinimumRequired Qualifications: *PLEASE UPLOAD ALL ACTIVE CERTICATIONS AND LICENSES WITH COLORED PHOTOS*
    • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
    • Active CA State Paramedic License
    • CA State Driver's License
    • BLS, ACLS, PALS OR PEPP, BTLS OR PHTLS
    • Driving record in compliance with company policy
    • Pass Physical Agility Test
    • Some work experience, preferably in healthcare

    Salary Range: $33.99/hr-$50.90/hr depending on experience (DOE) (This rate applies to 12 hour shift averaging 42 a week)
