Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following characteristics and skills to succeed:
Duties: Assist with all aspects of field operations, including guiding sea kayak tours
Engage guests in discussions about Puget Sound's natural history, marine environment, flora and wildlife, conservation challenges, and other topics
Teach guests the fundamentals of sea kayaking and water safety, help with entering/exiting and moving kayaks, follow all safety rules, prepare meals and equipment, perform routine maintenance, etc.
The summer program runs from mid-May to mid-October. Some positions may begin in late June and/or end between late August and early September.

Also, include a cover letter and a list of employer references. If you are physically fit and a competent educator/marine naturalist, we can quickly train you to be a safe and strong kayak guide. However, acquiring natural history information takes significantly longer, so applicants should be familiar with it or spend many months researching before arriving for training.
