Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining appearance and order of a dental office. Perform a variety of reception, secretarial, insurance, and data entry duties for patients in a comfortable environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
Open and close dental office
Use of standard office machines
Check daily schedule for accuracy
Greet patients and confirm appointments
Check any accounts that may need attention
Answer and respond to telephone calls with professionalism
Monitor and order supplies for the front office area
Balance at the end of the day and handle petty cash
Monitor cleanliness of patient reception area and rest room
Patient payments/posting
Verify insurance and keep patient information up to date
Fill openings in schedule
Follow-up for missed/failed appointments per office protocol
Process end-of-day reports
Process credit cards
Check office emails
Post-op phone calls
Prepare and send thank you letters
Prepare/send correspondence as directed by staff
Monitor all office equipment
Be an active participant in team meetings
Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Dental and/or office experience
Working knowledge of computers, multi-phone lines, copy/fax machines
Good communication skills to maintain rapport with patients and team members
Experience is preferred but will consider training a team player with a great attitude and strong work ethic
