Park Naturalist jobs in Idaho Falls, ID

Park Naturalist plans, develops, and conducts programs to inform the public of historical, natural, and scientific features concerning national, state, or local parks. May require a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Park Naturalist is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     As a Host , you would be responsible for greeting guests, accepting reservations, organizing wait-lists and seating charts to maintain smooth dining room flow.

    The Details :

    Position Type : Seasonal

    Season Dates : Late April 2024 - Late October 2024

    Pay : $15.50 / hr

    Schedule : Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days / per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

    Responsibilities

    Host ($15.50 / hr)

    Greet and seat guests, accept reservations, organize wait-lists and seating charts to maintain smooth dining room flow.

    Develop and maintain positive communication with Servers, Server Assistants, and the Manager on duty in the dining room.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to organize and prioritize under pressure while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
    • Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly : Service procedures, beverage and food menus as appropriate, operation of point of sales system.
    • Knowledge of menu, specials and features.
    • Knowledge of basic sanitation.
    • Certification in the TIPS alcohol awareness program is required. Workshops will be provided if not currently certified.

    Physical Requirements include :

    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, approximately 8 hours.
    • Must be able to walk for long periods of time.
    • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time.
