Parking Attendant distributes tickets to customers and collects payments in a parking facility. Directs customers to appropriate parking spaces. Being a Parking Attendant may park and retrieve automobiles in a full-service parking lot or garage. Greets guests and ensures timely service. Additionally, Parking Attendant may require a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Driver's license. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Parking Attendant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Handles customer complaints and inquiries. Monitors and reports activity on all parking facilities. Provides general maintenance and upkeep of parking equipment. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Customer service background or equivalent work experience. Working knowledge of parking operations. Skills and Abilities Good communication, leadership and organizational skills. High level of skill in counting cash accurately and handling large volume of cash. Ability to work with the public and professionally handle confrontational situations. Ability to work flexible and irregular hours, including weekends and nights. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some knowledge of computers and electronics.
