Parking Attendant distributes tickets to customers and collects payments in a parking facility. Directs customers to appropriate parking spaces. Being a Parking Attendant may park and retrieve automobiles in a full-service parking lot or garage. Greets guests and ensures timely service. Additionally, Parking Attendant may require a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Driver's license. Typically reports to a supervisor. Valet parking attendants are responsible for parking a customer’s vehicle upon arrival at a special event, parking it safely and efficiently, and retrieving the vehicle upon the customer’s departure. Valets must be very proficient drivers as they will be handling many different types and sizes of vehicles throughout the course of an event. Driver must possess both automatic and manual transmission driving skills.
This high profile role demands the utmost in providing a professional image and a polite customer service experience for the client. If there is a problem, it should be resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible. If further assistance is required, the Lead Driver or Valet Manager on Duty should be called upon immediately to solve the problem.
JOB DUTIES
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous valet driving and/or customer service training helpful. Valid state-issued DL and a clean MVR are required.
Drivers must be at least 21 years of age or older.
EXPERIENCE/JOB KNOWLEDGE
A history of working in the public service industry and previous car handling experience are preferred. Basic arithmetic skills and a solid employment record are necessary.
COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to verbally communicate in English and be able to demonstrate the ability to read English.
