Parole Officer is responsible for managing designated cases for prisoners who are on parole. Assesses the needs of the parolee, schedules and sets standards for supervision and creates reports on progress and behavior. Being a Parole Officer is responsible for scheduling or supervising rehabilitation program attendance and progress. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Parole Officer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Parole Officer gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     The City of Pleasant Hill, Iowa (population 10,860) is accepting applications for two positions as a Police Officer. The Pleasant Hill Police Department is a full-service police agency dedicated to improving the quality of life for our community and visitors.

    Starting salary is $71,340.48 following graduation from the Iowa Law Enforcement academy.

    The physical agility test and Police Officer Selection Test (POST) will be administered to all qualified applicants. Dates TBD and more information will be emailed to qualified candidates at a later date.

    “Certified police officers in the State of Iowa, who are current officers or have no more than a six-month break in service, may be exempt from taking the Police Officer Selection Test (POST) and the Cooper agility test as they have already passed these tests to become a certified officer.”

    Entry Requirement and Skills

    To be eligible you must have graduated from high school or an equivalent, must be 21 years of age or older and be able to meet minimum standards for Iowa Law Enforcement officers as indicated by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.

    Physical Agility Test Standards are located on the ILEA website.

    Post offer physical, drug screen, psychological exam, and polygraph required.
