    • Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and coworkers.
      2. Patrol Hospital buildings and grounds, to protect against fire, theft, illegal entry, infractions of safety regulations and other irregularities.
      3. Insure the security and safety of Hospital properties, employees, equipment and records, as well as, all physical aspects of the property including parking lots and motor vehicles.
      4. Participate in investigations, maintain records and prepare incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities accurately and completely.
      5. Investigate disturbances and in the event of emergency, take charge of policing to maintain order, safety and to protect property.
      6. Respond to emergency situations such as accidents and injuries crimes and safety hazards. Provide assistance and summon the proper authorities.
      7. Respond to inquiries and assist Hospital personnel; provide assistance in restraining of psychiatric patients as requested.
      8. Secure and unlock offices and facilities.
      9. Secure patient valuables and lost and found articles.
      10. Maintain required records and reports and files as required. Maintain department equipment and supplies.
      11. Attendance required at all education and in-service training programs.
      12. Practices according to entity mandatory requirements.
      13. Practices according to department expectations.
      14. Practices with a Customer Service approach to all activities.
      15. Complies with all administrative policies and procedures.
      16. Demonstrates basic computer ability.
      17. Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills.
      18. Responds appropriately in crisis situations.
      19. Utilizes internal and external resources for optimizing care.
      20. Documents according to practice standards.
      21. Provides a secure and safe facility environment.
      22. Addresses age-specific needs of infants, toddlers, school age, adolescents, adults, older adults.
      23. Perform other work related duties as requested/directed.
    Qualifications:

    • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
    • High school education or GED.
    • 1 year prior experience as a Healthcare Security Officer preferred.
    • Must have good writing and verbal skills and have the ability to produce a concise, accurate, well written report.
    • Ability to relate to all age and ethnic groups in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Possession of a valid driver's license.
    • CPR (Heart Saver) certification within 4 months of new position.
    • Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training within 4 months of hire and must attend MOAB training every 2 years.
