    Position Qualifications

    LICENSED Mortgage Loan Officers with 2 years of CURRENT industry experience (State of Minnesota)
    Excellent communication skills
    Must be a self-starter with the initiative to get things done
    Strong phone communication skills are a must
    Experience closing phone-based leads
    As a Loan Officer, your primary responsibilities are:

    Prospecting for referral partners and new clients

    Do everything in your power to help your clients to have a great experience.

    Have a lock conversation with every client when you lock their loan.
    When the loan is in process, you are expected to:

    Give your clients updates on progress and concerns.

    Resolve concerns and questions with clients as needed.
    · Manages all aspects of the borrowing relationship; loan closings and ongoing customer communication.

    · Handles customer information and files in a manner that provides a high level of external and internal customer service. Provides complete and accurate information to appropriate lending support staff and third-party service companies. Upholds confidentiality at all times.

    Business Development

    · Participates in various community/professional activities and networks with local businesses in order to enhance the growth of the bank.

    · Provides professional-level information, communication, and follow-through while working on loans and related banking product sales and services.

    Overall Functions

    This person originates and manages mortgage loan originations that meet established lending requirements and criteria of our investors.

    Responsibilities

    1. Seek, identify, and solicit potential mortgage loan customers, to enhance a sales culture within the Mortgage Lending Department.

    2. Interview mortgage loan applicants in order to assemble the information needed to make a credit decision as required by Loan Policies and Guidelines, industry standards, and consumer compliance regulations.

    3. Determine the creditworthiness of applicants by analyzing credit information and appraisals, referring to lending authority as required by Loan Policies and Guidelines and industry standards.

    4. Ensure the complete collection of all mortgage loan documents.

    5. Remain current on industry products and developments, ensuring ongoing competitive advantage.

    6. Provide ongoing customer service to ensure customer retention and continued cross-selling of other products and services.

    7. Attend all loan meetings as deemed appropriate or directed by the Mortgage Lending Department Manager to participate in decisions that affect ongoing and future operations of the loan function.

    8. Provide guidance and assistance to the other Mortgage Department Staff.

    10. Act in accordance with policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook.

    11. Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in required compliance training.

    Responsibilities:

    Verifies, compiles and inputs application information for mortgage loans.
    Discuss and advise the client of their home loan options.
    Reviews residential loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets establishment standards, including type and amount of mortgage, applied for, including but not limited to borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment.
    Informs supervisor of discrepancies in title or survey.
    Performs other related duties as assigned.
    Current, valid NMLS license or appointment in good standing.
    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Self-Gen Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) proactively solicits new residential mortgages and sells Park State Bank mortgage products to meet established loan quality and production goals. Responsible for originating retail mortgage loans. May sell directly to customers or solicit customers indirectly through third parties such as builders or realtors.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Identifies, develops and maintains a quality network of business relationships that serves as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending operations.
    Compiles and analyzes data for residential real estate loan requests.
    Outlines loan terms and conditions, and informs the borrowers of loan commitments.
    Screens loan requests based on financial institution policies and on types of loans offered by the institution.
    Orders credit reports, background checks, reference checks and other information as needed on residential loan applicants.
    Prepares residential loan packages, in accordance with financial institution standards.
    Makes suggestions to the Manager to update or add to residential loan terms and conditions on a case-by-case basis.
    Provides reports on the status of financial institution residential loans and residential loan marketing strategies, based on current and past workloads.
    Handles inquiries from applicants and branch personnel. Resolves customer complaints.
    Responsible for becoming knowledgeable about and adhere to all relevant compliance regulations.
