Parole Officer is responsible for managing designated cases for prisoners who are on parole. Assesses the needs of the parolee, schedules and sets standards for supervision and creates reports on progress and behavior. Being a Parole Officer is responsible for scheduling or supervising rehabilitation program attendance and progress. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Parole Officer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Parole Officer gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Responsibilities and Duties:
    • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
    • Obtains help by sounding alarms.
    • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
    • Controls traffic by directing drivers.
    • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
    • Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
    • Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
    • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    Job Requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • At least 18 years old
    • Excellent interpersonal skills along with excellent oral and written communication
    • Possession of a guard license per state requirement, and maintain active status
    • Ability to remain flexible and adapt well
    • Remain calm in stressful situations
