Job Purpose

To serve the church by providing management of campus operations and pastoral leadership in Volunteers, Life Groups, and assimilation of new members.

Essential Functions

Spiritual Formation and Pastoral Leadership:

· Be a contributing member of the campus leadership team, providing pastoral leadership, and creative and strategic help to move the campus forward towards Friends’ mission of becoming a community of authentic Christ followers. Ensure that the values and DNA of Friends Church are embodied and lived out.

· Oversee Life Groups by developing a team leadership structure within life groups.

· Provide leadership for all affinity groups (men, women, young adult, etc.)

· Empower Alpha leaders to run a successful Alpha course 3x a year.

· Develop a culture of hospitality by building a follow-up team and process for new guests that works within the campus discipleship pathway.

· Develop and lead weekend service teams including Connections Team, Parking Team, Security Team, Set Up Team, and Prayer Team.

· In tandem with the Campus Pastor, maintain the campus calendar. This includes launch dates for the Alpha Course, Men’s & Women’s Ministries, and Connect Groups.

· Be evangelistically active and set an example of engaging unsaved and unchurched people in the target area.

· Teach as requested.

Operations

· Oversee the planning and oversight of the Waymaker facility including the contractual and the aesthetic design of the building that best communicates a culture of hospitality and invitation. Ensure that all facilities are operational, safe, and welcoming.

Communications:

· Facilitate maintenance for the Waymaker Friends Church website, Instagram account, and promotional materials for courses and events.

· With the Campus Pastor, help to ensure implementation of church policies, directives, and procedures among staff and volunteers to keep the regional campus aligned strategically and operationally with the central campus.

· Create a work environment that fosters other-centeredness, mutual support, cohesive teamwork, and successful interpersonal relationships that reflects Jesus’ example in John 13.

· Obtain and maintain clear signage and visual displays for parking, safety, campus navigation, and how attendees get connected.

General Responsibilities

· Keep current in related fields and best practices, including theological teaching.

· Attend and participate in all staff Friends Church staff meetings, events, programs, and training.

· Cooperate with supervision by performing appropriate related duties when assigned or instructed.

Qualifications

SPIRITUAL: Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and must have a heart for ministry. Must hold to the Statement of Faith, Position Statements, Mission Statement, and Core Values and Ministry Values of Yorba Linda Friends Church. Those that serve God on the staff at Friends Church are expected to set a high standard of personal conduct and lifestyle. It is required that all staff members are active attendees of Friends Church and life groups.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE: A bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of three to five (3-5) years ministry experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Will be recommended and expected to pursue commissioning through Friends Southwest.

Knowledge and Skills

SKILLS: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite. Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills, and mathematical skills. Must be a self-starter. Must be confidential, flexible, accurate, and have good follow-up skills. Strong managerial skills.

ABILITY: Ability to comprehend written and oral information and to express written and oral information with clarity. Ability to act independently while working with a team effectively.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and be able to occasionally move about within the Church building. Constantly operates a computer using hands and arms to feel and reach. This position frequently communicates with team members, church staff, and church members and needs to be able to comprehend oral and written information. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
