We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Director to join our team. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities for our residents in an assisted living facility. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors and contribute to their overall well-being.
Duties:
- Develop and coordinate a variety of activities and programs that cater to the physical, mental, and emotional needs of our residents
- Create and maintain an activity calendar that offers a diverse range of options for residents to participate in
- Organize and lead group activities such as games, crafts, exercise classes, and social events
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure activities are tailored to meet the individual needs and interests of each resident
- Provide support and assistance to residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
- Plan and execute special events such as holiday parties, birthdays, and outings
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities
- Stay up-to-date with current trends in senior care and aging issues counseling
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in assisted living or senior care settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of aging issues counseling and memory care techniques
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with seniors on a personal level
- Proficient in event planning and schedule management
- Understanding of caregiving principles and the ability to provide support to residents when needed
- Degree in social work or related field is a plus
