PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide comprehensive, team based, geriatric and wound specialty focused care. This position will serve as the Medical Director of Androscoggin Mobile Wound Care. The geriatric nurse practitioner will promote good health practices and work collaboratively as a member of the medical staff.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree in nursing and certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or other recognized national certifying bodies. Licensed by Maine Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). Certification geriatrics and wound care are highly encouraged within 2 years of hire if not already attained. Meet the supervision requirements of 24 months supervision by a physician.
EXPERIENCE: At least two years of practice, additional experience in geriatric care and wound care is preferred. Excellent computer skills necessary.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current state APRN licensed; NP certification by ANCC or other nationally recognized certifying body.
