Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare develops programs and oversees services designed to meet the religious and spiritual needs of patients, their families, and healthcare staff. Ensures that pastoral services are staffed so that chaplains are available to support patients and families facing difficult medical choices. Being a Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare establishes policies and procedures to facilitate optimal service delivery and ensure that emotional support, spiritual counsel, and comfort are provided. Evaluates and reviews records of counseling sessions and visitation logs to ensure compliance with professional and ethical standards. Additionally, Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare plans and coordinates with other clergy to conduct interfaith worship experiences. May perform the duties of a chaplain. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Responsibilities & Duties

     

    Pastoral Care is responsible for ministering and connecting with all Program Guests to increase spiritual wellness, guiding, reconciling, and coaching, as well as equipping, training, and developing the Pastoral Care volunteers in function and participation. The Pastoral Team serves as models for guests while sharing hope and guidance through the program experience. The Pastoral Team is directly involved with providing quality services to our guests in an environment of Love, Grace, Dignity, and Respect.

     

    • Warmly greet all guests, including, but not limited to, visitors, volunteers, vendors, staff, guests, donors, community groups, church groups, and public officials.
    • Establish and build healthy Christ-honoring relationships with guests while maintaining the Code of Ethics for professional certification.
    • Pray with, advise, and direct guests' efforts relating to spiritual and program needs.
    • Under the leadership of the Pastoral Care Manager, maintain the Pastoral Standard of Excellence and actively participate in the process of upholding this standard among the Pastoral Team.
    • Teach Bible and Relational Classes per the GRM Statement of Faith, not supporting denominational distinctiveness and respect for other Christian denominations.
    • In collaboration with the Pastoral Care Manager, Director of Program, assist in developing a bible curriculum in accordance with the Statement of Faith of GRM and non-denominational in nature.
    • In collaboration with the Pastoral Care Manager, Director of Shelter Program, and Senior Director of Program, assist in upholding the Standard of Excellence and integrity of the program.
    • In collaboration with the Pastoral Care Manager, Director of Shelter Program, and Senior Director of Program, provide special services such as Christmas and Easter appropriate services, prayer times, etc.
    • Maintain thorough and timely guest records in the cloud-based tracking system, documenting services, guest incidents, mandated reporting, and documenting guest attendance in chapel services or the Pastoral Care office.
    • Provide biblical instruction through teaching in 1:1 instruction, classes (as assigned), and chapel service.
    • Assist the Pastoral Care Manager in coordinating special events and activities.
    • Providing training and development for pastoral care volunteers.
    • Provide support to Pastoral Care volunteers.
    • Teach classes and preach at chapel services as needed.
    • Support the Pastoral Team or, in the absence of one service in that capacity.
    • Train the Pastoral Care Volunteers, coordinate them, and provide continued support.
    • Collaborate with partnering churches and ministries, participating in chapel events and providing volunteers.
    • De-escalate adverse situations, both physically and emotionally, and appropriately redirect or initiate other measures to control behavior by providing appropriate crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed.
    • Hold guest(s) accountable to program, Program Guidelines & Protections.
    • Lead guests in grace and accountability, holding guests accountable to the program and the Program Guidelines & Protections.
    • Support guests in the Genesis process
    • Attend professional training and networking opportunities as directed.
    • Attend staff meetings or other meetings as directed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Starting rate of pay: $16.00$14.33 per hour
