Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare develops programs and oversees services designed to meet the religious and spiritual needs of patients, their families, and healthcare staff. Ensures that pastoral services are staffed so that chaplains are available to support patients and families facing difficult medical choices. Being a Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare establishes policies and procedures to facilitate optimal service delivery and ensure that emotional support, spiritual counsel, and comfort are provided. Evaluates and reviews records of counseling sessions and visitation logs to ensure compliance with professional and ethical standards. Additionally, Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare plans and coordinates with other clergy to conduct interfaith worship experiences. May perform the duties of a chaplain. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. The CPE resident Chaplain position is a full time, temporary work-study program typically lasting one year and consisting of 3 – 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education. The Resident Chaplain provides or makes available spiritual, religious, and emotional care for patients and their families during hospitalization; they provide spiritual and emotional support for TMH colleagues; they serve as an educational resource for TMH colleagues; They participate in clinical pastoral education processes such as pastoral reflection, pastoral formation, and personal identity development, with a view toward pastoral and personal growth, integration and competence; They work toward the outcomes of Level II CPE articulated in the ACPE Standards and preparatory to certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains or the National Association of Jewish Chaplains. The CPE resident is under the general direction of the Director of Spiritual Care and CPE.

Required Education:
Bachelor of Divinity, Religious Studies or related degree required; Master’s of Divinity or Master’s of Religious Studies preferred.
