Position Description and Location:
Assistant Director of Nursing, LPN at our Skilled Long Term Care Nursing Home Campus
Position Summary:
- Assists the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing and directing day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services Department to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ambitiously provide friendly and superb service to the constituency of the Home with compassion and zeal while maintaining an attitude of professionalism, maturity and team orientation.
- Promotes the mission and values of Vernon Green Nursing Home and its Nursing Department
- Provides oversight of nursing staff on all shifts.
- Participates in developing, maintaining and updating the policies and procedures of the Nursing Department.
- Serves as QAA Coordinator, developing, monitoring and recording the implementation of the facility’s QAA program in conjunction with the Administrator and Department Heads.
- Develops and overseas the implementation and monitoring of all aspects of the Infection Control program for the facility to comply with Federal and State regulations.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating new hire orientation programs, educational in-service/clinical programs, and training for all nursing personnels.
- Collects and reports Risk Management information to the DNS and Administrator.
- Participates in direct resident care as necessary including medication administration and shift coverage.
- Participates in facility survey process.
- Participates in weekly clinical and care plan meetings.
- Participates in the selection of residents for admission to facility.
- Provides Nursing Department coverage when DNS is away.
- Learn and perform all emergency procedures assigned to your position in the Home’s Emergency Manual during drills and emergencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess current active license with the State of Vermont.
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility or other related health care facility.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Must have reliable means of getting to work.
- Must have the availability of being reached by phone.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.00 - $40.00 per hour
