Being a Pathology Assistant may record findings or sterilize equipment. Requires a bachelor's/master's degree from an accredited program. Additionally, Pathology Assistant may require certification as a pathologist assistant. Typically reports to a pathologist. To be a Pathology Assistant typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications
Education/Experience/Registration/Certification/Licensure: Bachelors Degree in biological science with one year internship plus successful completion of the American Society of Clinical Pathologist medical technology certificate examination or possess the necessary requirements to qualify as Clinical Laboratory Scientist under clinical Laboratory Improvement Act Standards (CLIA).
