Pathology Assistant under the supervision of a pathologist assists with preparing and dissecting surgical specimens. Prepares and selects tissue samples for analysis. Being a Pathology Assistant may record findings or sterilize equipment. Requires a bachelor's/master's degree from an accredited program. Additionally, Pathology Assistant may require certification as a pathologist assistant. Typically reports to a pathologist. To be a Pathology Assistant typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Job Description of Speech Language Pathology Assistant
Assist in evaluating/screening students referred for possible speech therapy services
Attend staffings and/or IEPs for students referred as needed
Assist in developing appropriate goals and objectives for students
Plan and conduct activities to achieve objectives with frequency of service determined by the IEP team.
Collaborate with teachers to implement classroom activities
Supervise and evaluate speech therapy para educators.
Provide appropriate training for speech therapy paraeducators.
Attend school/student improvement teams as a consultant when requested.
Complete and submit all required special education forms/paperwork in a timely manner and as required by the special education administration, including progress reports and daily Medicaid documentation
Monitor and re-evaluate student needs as necessary.
Attend appropriate professional development and convention activities. Report results of meetings to appropriate groups or for submission of Professional Development points toward the IPDP.
Ensure students with speech therapy needs receive the appropriate services, including performing additional duties necessary that might not be listed above.
