Our Billing Team continues to GROW!! In office/Hybrid/Remote

Summary: Follows established billing procedures for timely and thorough collection of open invoices. Work reports as assigned within time period assigned.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for all phases of billing and collection activities, including but not limited to:
  • Phone queue and voicemails- Daily
  • Patient pay tracker tasks – Daily
  • Returned mail – Weekly
  • Patient payment detail template – as needed
• Responsible for patient support including but not limited to:
  • Payment plan charging CC – Monthly
  • Run Auto pay Yes status codes to charge card before statement – weekly
  • Collection spreadsheet – weekly
  • Upload collection spreadsheet to Mermed – Monthly
  • Post collection payments – Monthly
  • Credit balance aging – Monthly
  • Review Patient statements – Weekly
  • Post daily patient batches – Daily

• Excellent verbal communication skills – polite, friendly, helpful and courteous
• Detail oriented, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to follow through to the end
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments timely and accurately
• Knowledge of billing guidelines and resources for Medicaid, Medicare and commercial insurances
• Proficient and strong computer skills
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Displays professionalism and a positive attitude
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding

Work Environment:

This job is performed in our Wixom, MI office. Hybrid Schedule is available after training. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type:

This is a full-time position. Days are Monday through Friday and hours of work vary from 7:00am to 5:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED diploma.
• Medical billing/coding experience
• Collections of insurance claims experience
• Medicare and/or Medicaid background
• Durable Medical Equipment (DME) experience
• Create and work with Excel spreadsheets
• Telephone skills to include courteous, professional demeanor
