Performs, on a daily basis, the follow-up and collection efforts necessary to relieve patient accounts for a collectible status. Works with Admitting and Utilization Review in the areas of insurance verification and insurance benefits. Assists patient and families with financial arrangements. Takes an active role in attaining and maintaining AR days. Assists the Business Office Manager in reviewing and selecting of accounts to be placed with outside collection agencies.
Performs, on a daily basis, medical billing, to include verifying accurate info to submit correct claims, submitting claims electronically, and via paper, working with insurance company, and patients to get claims processed and paid. Reviewing, rebilling and appealing unpaid or denied claims, as necessary. Submits reports to Business Office Manager as assigned. Timely and accurate follow up of all assigned accounts.
Qualifications:Education: High School diploma/GED is required.
Previous Experience: Previous experience in medical facility business office is required.
Licensure/Certification: Successful completion of CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
