Medical Billing Specialist and Patient Accounts Coordinator Job Summary:
The Silvercrest Center for nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Patient Accounts Coordinator.
Under the general supervision of the CFO, the Patient Accounts Coordinator performs a variety of accounts receivable duties including, but not limited to: the maintenance of records and related materials to ensure full compliance with various agencies to ensure maximization of the receivable process. This position requires the ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
Responsibilities:
· Private Billing and Collections.
- Prints and mails private bills
· Follows up on delinquent private accounts.
· Adds accounts to Transworld.
· Recommends private accounts for collections/legal.
· Downloads and posts all ancillary charges.
· Posts Medicare charges to ledger.
· Does ICOI billing.
· Prints and electronically sends Medicare bills.
· Posts Medicare cash receipts.
· HMO billing and collections.
· Contacts case manager and facility clinical staff to confirm level of care.
· Receives authorization notices from HMO’s – matches data to billing.
· Posts HMO charges to ledger.
· Creates and transmits HMO billing file to clearinghouse.
· Prints and mails other HMO bills.
· Receives and follows up on denial notices from HMO’s
· Appeals HMO denials.
· Does HMO voids and adjustments.
