Patient Accounts Supervisor supervises credit, collection, insurance, and billing clerks in an inpatient and/or outpatient accounting office. Coordinates activities and schedules work assignments to meet billing deadlines. Being a Patient Accounts Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Patient Accounts Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. - Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
- Pays invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling, preparing disbursements, and obtaining authorization of payment.
- Obtains revenue by verifying transaction information, computing charges, and refunds, and preparing and mailing invoices.
- Collects revenue by reminding delinquent accounts and notifying customers of insufficient payments.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
- Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
- Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments and adjustments.
- Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups.
- Maintains financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
- 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office – with emphasis on Excel
- SAP
- Proficient in mathematics
- Must be respectful, honest, and demonstrate a strong work ethic
EDUCATION:Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
