Patient Accounts Supervisor supervises credit, collection, insurance, and billing clerks in an inpatient and/or outpatient accounting office. Coordinates activities and schedules work assignments to meet billing deadlines. Being a Patient Accounts Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Patient Accounts Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure accurate and timely payment
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Assist with month-end closing procedures
- Prepare and distribute reports as needed
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role
- Knowledge of payroll, tax, and corporate accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Ceridian, Quicken, or similar programs
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with benefits administration and payroll management is a plus
- Experience with Paychex is a plus
