  • Performs the responsibilities of the AVP of Branch Operations New Account Management role in the new accounts department during his/her absence.

    Assists AVP of Branch Operations in all duties and functions of the new accounts department staff.

    Assists the AVP of Branch Operations to ensure objectives are attained, plans fulfilled, and member service delivery is professional and efficient.

    Produces quality work efficiently and free from errors.

    Follows guidelines and policies such as Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act and Office of Foreign Assets Control, CIP, Reg CC, B, D, E and Z intended to limit risk and exposure for the organization and its members. Types of risk include fraudulent transactions, account fraud or mishandling, compliance with policies, security guidelines and the organizations reputation.

    Monitors and observes employee performance, demeanor, technical accuracy, service efforts, and conformity to policy and procedure.


    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with credit union policies and applicable law.

    Human Resource responsibilities include, but are not limited to: interviewing, selecting, orienting, training, assigning and directing work, scheduling, motivating, coaching, verifying employee time records, reviewing and evaluating employee performance, rewarding and disciplining.

    Prepares team schedules for assigned staff for a variety of work shifts, ensuring that breaks and meals are taken, and staffing is kept at appropriate levels.

    Lead, coach, develop and supervise staff including taking proactive measures to ensure that assigned staff are meeting performance expectations.

    Provides leadership and supervises daily activities.

    Approve new account applications and performs overrides for assigned staff.

    Responsible for ensuring all assigned employees are trained and adhere to all BSA, AML and CIP policies and procedures.

    Research, troubleshoot and resolve Member new account inquiries.

    Addresses complaints and resolves situations while using good judgment and protecting credit union interests.

    Communicates effectively with team. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

    Ability to attain goals as set by Management on a consistent and continual basis. Including training and developing staff to attain their goals as well.

    Ensures the safety and security of employees and credit union equipment and property. Including cleanliness, proper maintenance, and safe work practices.

    High School diploma or equivalent.

    Knowledge of new account activities and practices as would normally be acquired from two years of increasingly responsible experience within a financial institution.

    Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role.
