Job Summary:
Assists in the efficient operation of the outpatient physician clinic. Establishes and maintains accurate patient schedules, coordinating with appropriate disciplines.

Job Description:

• Coordinates and schedules clinic and hospital procedures and surgeries for assigned providers
  • Collaborates with Diagnostic Imaging staff to coordinate and schedule diagnostic and imaging tests
  • Collaborates with surgical services to assign surgery schedules
  • Enters patient communication notes and provided surgical instructions in the electronic medical record
  • Works with appropriate vendor staff to verify necessary equipment is available for Provider’s procedures
• Serves as a patient liaison for completing pre-operative processes
  • Communicates pre-operative instructions and information regarding tests, procedures or surgeries with patient and family
  • Verifies prior authorizations for insurance processing

Required Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One (1) year of administrative or clinical experience in a professional setting

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: Two (2) years of experience in a business office, registration, or billing role in a hospital or clinic setting.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Proficiency in the use of medical terminology and processing medical information.
