    Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.

    Family Center (FC) is the outpatient location of Jeffersonrsquo;s MATER (Maternal Addiction Treatment, Education and Research) program. FC provides compassionate, person-centered, comprehensive substance use disorder treatment for pregnant and parenting women with opioid use disorder. Treatment includes individual, family, and group counseling, parenting support, on-site child care, food pantry, psychiatric care, and medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), primarily methadone. Candidates should be familiar with the concepts of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based treatment.

    The patient registrar performs receptionist and registrar duties for outpatient clinic which includes answering telephones, providing a welcoming environment to patients, visitors and vendors, monitoring patient flow, and verifying insurance information.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Checks in patients, updating them about upcoming appointments and directing them to appropriate staff
    • Oversees activity in the lobby to monitor patient flow and maintain orderly medicating.
    • Greets visitors and patients and orients them to confidentiality requirements, including collecting signed confidentiality forms for visitors/vendors.
    • Verifies patient demographic information is current.
    • Confirms patient appointments with psychiatrist via telephone.
    • Serves as a member of the Safety and Support Team, implementing safety and de-escalation protocols as needed.
    • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of Jefferson.

    OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

    • Upon arrival of a new patient, patientrsquo;s photo is taken and uploaded into the EHR.
    • Maintains office supplies for clinic floor.
    • Performs additional office duties including answering telephone calls, delivering messages, mail distribution, faxing, and copying.
    • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
    EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

    High School diploma or GED required. Associatersquo;s degree preferred.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    2 years of relevant work experience.
