Patient Representative acts as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare organization to support patient-centric care delivery. Communicates patients' questions, concerns, and issues to appropriate staff members, follows up, and facilitates solutions as needed. Being a Patient Representative explains policies, procedures, rights, and applicable regulations to patients and provides informational resources about available services. Working with multi-disciplinary teams may make recommendations for improvements to the patient experience. Additionally, Patient Representative may participate in discharge processes or administer patient satisfaction surveys. Follows all applicable regulations regarding patient information privacy policies. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Patient Representative works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     The TELCOR Revenue Cycle Services (RCS) Patient Service Representative is responsible for handling calls from patients of TELCOR customers. This role will include looking up patient records, interpreting patient account status and activity, relaying appropriate and accurate information to patients, updating patient demographics and properly notating accounts. This role requires the Patient Service Representative to work in our Lincoln, NE office through the initial training period.

    The TELCOR RCS hiring team is looking for candidates with availability between the hours of 7:00am to 5:00pm.

    Responsibilities
    • Handle outbound and inbound patient phone calls, including: documenting with proper notations on patient accounts, interpret patient account status and activity (demographic, claim and payment activity) and answering patient questions
    • Adhere to documented Standard Operating Procedures, including those which may be unique to only certain customers
    • Entry and update of patient demographic data, patient insurance data and other requisition data efficiently and accurately
    • Perform benefit eligibility checks and resolve benefit eligibility failures
    • Link documents and other document management responsibilities
    • Resolve front-end errors and transaction errors
    • Adhere to productivity standards as determined by leadership
    • Other tasks may be assigned as needed

    Requirements
    • Must be able to uphold confidentiality and comply with federal, state and company policy, procedures, and regulations
    • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both in writing and verbally with tact, diplomacy and respect for others
    • Must have strong skills in follow up and monitoring of outstanding items, independently with little supervision
    • Must have strong attention to detail and skills allowing for quick and efficient navigation of data entry procedures, while utilizing computer-based technology platforms
    • Must be able to work independently to achieve individual and team goals
    • Self-motivated, analytical, quick learner, organized, detail oriented, multi-tasker, resilient and self-disciplined in time management
    • PC literate — Windows® operation system environments and Microsoft® Office tools; e.g., Word, Excel®
