Patient Safety Manager manages a staff responsible for developing and implementing patient safety programs. Supervises the investigation of errors and then plans for resolution of all safety related incidents, including those involving employees, visitors, patients, and situations posing a threat to the hospital's buildings and equipment. Being a Patient Safety Manager maintains records of patient-related errors and evaluates this information in order to identify the cause of the error. Collects, reviews, and analyzes information from the facility's safety programs to identify corrective action and programs as necessary. Additionally, Patient Safety Manager recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent future errors. Designs and presents training programs meant to increase awareness of patient safety initiatives. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Summit Health, Safety, and Industrial Hygiene Services (www.summithsih.com) is seeking a part time Project Safety Manager near Boise. We will hire this person directly, including someone who has their own LLC.
Our team can facilitate a very flexible schedule and are open to work with candidates who may have ongoing responsibilities elsewhere, as long as no conflicts are identified. This position is anticipated to work up to 10 hours per week but may fluctuate and could grow. We anticipate most of this work will be at Client locations but remote support will occasionally be required from this individual's home or personal office.
We will offer the right candidate $40.00/hour for support. Work will be based on contract awards and will not follow a standard work schedule. The position may involve:
This individual must have significant experience in OSHA programs, field support, and have a strong ability to use Microsoft products. Construction safety experience is desired. This individual should be well versed in editing and writing of documents. A writing sample may be requested prior to employment.
A bachelor’s degree is required in Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or similar technical field. A minimum of six years of experience is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
