Job Responsibilities:
DC Logistics is a private equity backed, LTL transportation and 3PL services company with locations in California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Louisiana.
We are seeking for Safety Managers to oversee all facets of our daily Safety activities to be in compliance with local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations. This role is responsible to provide technical support, tactical execution, control of workplace hazards and deliver safety strategy for our fast-paced environment. The Safety Manager will be responsible for collaborating with operations team to execute safety procedures, company environmental procedures and ensure compliance with all applicable Safety regulations. The Safety Manager will play a critical role in driving safety excellence, reducing accidents and incidents, and ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Build trusted partnership with Operations to support tactical and strategic safety decisions driving business improvements and accident reductions.

Ensures all necessary HSE Training is completed by all site associates. This includes new hire safety training and all other on-site HSE trainings required for both hourly and management associates.

Establish KPIs for Operations to develop a critical partnership in aligning safety efforts across the terminal.

Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and responsible for all drivers’ compliance and company regulations.

Develop, update, and maintain written safety and health procedures in compliance with company policies, as well as state and federal regulations.

Serve as the subject matter expert for OSHA compliance and the primary point of contact for all safety-related issues.

Facilitates incident investigations; ensure complete and accurate incident documentation and reporting.

Conduct compliance audits to ensure practices and record accuracy, including OSHA documentation, and comply with all government and company policies.

Participate in new process reviews, including job hazard analysis, new process training, etc.

Create, maintain, and deliver safety training on a regular basis.

Conduct risk assessments to minimize and eliminate risk, losses, and environmental issues.

Analyze safety and health data, develop metrics, and create and distribute reports for leadership.

Qualifications (education, prior work experience, special skills, etc.):

BA/BS in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Sciences, Business, or a related field is a plus.

5 years of related work experience, including safety audit experience, managing safety and health programs in an industrial or warehouse environment.

Experience reporting safety metrics (leading/lagging indicators)

Supply chain and more specifically LTL transportation industry knowledge a plus.

Ability to travel, as needed, to other offices/service centers.
