Patient Safety Manager manages a staff responsible for developing and implementing patient safety programs. Supervises the investigation of errors and then plans for resolution of all safety related incidents, including those involving employees, visitors, patients, and situations posing a threat to the hospital's buildings and equipment. Being a Patient Safety Manager maintains records of patient-related errors and evaluates this information in order to identify the cause of the error. Collects, reviews, and analyzes information from the facility's safety programs to identify corrective action and programs as necessary. Additionally, Patient Safety Manager recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent future errors. Designs and presents training programs meant to increase awareness of patient safety initiatives. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Patient Safety Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Signature Safety is looking for a safety manager with commercial construction experience for a project in Tyler, TX. Must have either a valid OSHA 500, 502, or 510 within the past 5 years. Must have 5 years of commercial construction safety manager experience. Must have practical knowledge, working experience, and documented continuing education in the areas of fall protection, scaffolding, excavations, confined spaces, crane/equipment operations, electrical, incident investigation, and other such safety/health related training. Must have training of at least four (4) hours in duration per topic. Continuing education must have been within last five (5) years. Must live within a commutable distance from Tyler, TX. Approximately 1 hour driving time.

    We are looking for a reliable Safety Manager to ensure everyone in the company complies with health and safety laws. You will be responsible for establishing policies that will create and maintain a safe workplace. As a safety manager, you must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards. The ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential. The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
    • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
    • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
    • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
    • Monitor compliance with policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
    • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
    • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
    • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures
    • Completing necessary paperwork and conducting audits

The 5 yrs cannot include exp working on plants, oil refineries, etc. Must be 5 years of exp on projects such as schools, retail buildings, medical facilities, office buildings, parking garages, etc
    • Do you live within a commutable distance from Tyler, TX? Approximately 1 hour driving time. This is not a per diem position. Must be commutable.

    License/Certification:

    • 4 hrs of fall protection training cert, within last 5 yrs (Preferred)
    • 4 hrs of scaffolding training cert, within the last 5 yrs (Preferred)
    • 4 hrs of excavations training cert, within the last 5 yrs (Preferred)
    • 4 hrs of confined space training cert, within last 5 yrs (Preferred)
    • 4 hrs of crane safety training cert, within the last 5 yrs (Preferred)
    • 4 hrs of electrical training cert, within the last 5 yrs (Preferred)
    • 4 hr of incident investigations training, within last 5 yrs (Preferred)
    • OSHA 500 or 502 or 510 within 5 years (Required)
