Patient Safety Manager manages a staff responsible for developing and implementing patient safety programs. Supervises the investigation of errors and then plans for resolution of all safety related incidents, including those involving employees, visitors, patients, and situations posing a threat to the hospital's buildings and equipment. Being a Patient Safety Manager maintains records of patient-related errors and evaluates this information in order to identify the cause of the error. Collects, reviews, and analyzes information from the facility's safety programs to identify corrective action and programs as necessary. Additionally, Patient Safety Manager recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent future errors. Designs and presents training programs meant to increase awareness of patient safety initiatives. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Patient Safety Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Environmental Health & Safety Manager

  • Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Monitor processes, procedures, and operating conditions in the workplace.
    • Ensure that the company is in compliance with local, state, and federal workplace environmental, health and safety regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate environmental, health and safety regulations requirements.
    • Provide training for employees on hazardous material safety, industrial hygiene, workplace safety and emergency response procedures.
    • Monitor employee exposure to hazards and make recommendations for prevention.
    • Conduct investigations of any accident or near-miss involving hazardous materials, equipment or employee injury.
    • Ensure that BMPs are observed.
    • Monitor and implement the ZERO Accident Program.
    • Monitor and implement Safety Training & Observation Program (STOP).  
    • Maintain OSHA Logs
    • Hazardous waste disposal (K050, oils, coolants, parts washer, e-waste).
    • TRI Reporting.
    • Maintain compliance for Stormwater and Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permits.
    • Maintain water treatment system to ensure compliance with Stormwater Permit.
    • Analyze water treatment system for improvements, maintenance, and ensure that system is operational before and during rain events.
    • Work with laboratories for stormwater analysis.
    • Arrange quarterly safety lunches.
    • Perform daily, weekly, monthly and annual safety checks.

    Job Specifications

    • B.A./B.S. required.
    • At least five years experience in environmental health and safety with an industrial services company.
    • High-level knowledge of local, state, and federal workplace environmental regulations.
    • Excellent time management, communication, writing and organization skills.
    • Experience with TRI Reporting.
    • Experience with NPDES, Stormwater, and/or Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permits.
    • Knowledge of OSHA regulations for general industry, DOT compliance.
    • Knowledge of diesel engine rules with CARB for Commercial Trucks and Off-Road Vehicles.
    • Knowledge of NCCCO crane operator program.
    • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    Compensation Range: $85k to $115k dependent on schooling, degree(s) and work experience.
